I’ve had a very exciting weekend, I managed to score two of the things I’d always dreamed of having for my craft room – all on facebook marketplace! I’ve always wanted rustic drawers with all different compartments, I thought I might one day get my hands on a desk top set, but I never imagined I’d get my hands on a set of wooden engineer drawers! I was so excited to see these on marketplace, I’ve only ever seen these kind of drawers in metal, never in wood. There’s 22 drawers in total and each drawer has different sections, perfect for all my embellishments and vintage curios.
I absolutely love the chippy paint on them, and will leave them exactly how they are. They are really sturdy as well, which I was worried about before going and viewing them. These beautiful drawers cost me £80! They was £100 to begin with, but I kept my cool and did a little sighing and “thinking” and he took the price down, not once but twice! I literally hate having to negotiate or ask for deals on things, I even hate having to go pick things up or purchase from people, I always send Nathan, but I didn’t do too bad with this (in my own way)
Now guys, I got the blue drawers on the sunday, but two days prior on the friday, I’d actually got my hands on these incredible architect drawers too! I have always wanted a set of these, some refer to them as map drawers, I tend to refer to them as Art drawers, because we had very similar old drawers at the Art School I attended.  They are painted in an Anne Sloan colour, I’m not sure which though, but either way, I really like the colour and will be leaving it as it is.  These drawers will be great for keeping all of my ephemera and paper supplies in, as I always really struggle for that kind of storage for my paper.
These drawers were £50 but I managed to get them for £45, again an absolute steal, if these were in an antique store they would be so much more!
I thought I would add this close up photo of the incredible wooden writing box Nathan so kindly went and picked up for me a few weeks ago, this was actually another marketplace find, and it cost me, wait for it… £5! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? because I still cannot get my head around the fact we paid £5 for it, its so beautiful, and again, it was something on my list of thing I’d love in this craft room
I can’t wait to start decorating this room, it’s something I’ve always dreamed of having, and I feel these two pieces of furniture along with all of my vintage stationery and art, it is really starting to pull together the aesthetic I want for my craft room.  I feel it’ll be a mix of rustic, cottagecore and academia I’ve decided I will be painting it all magnolia, and letting the furniture, my curios and art on the walls do all the talking. I’m really looking forward to being able to share this room makeover once I start it with you all as its going to be so much fun.
I really hope you enjoyed my thrifty finds today!
Much Love
