A few weeks ago I was browsing Hobbycraft’s website and stumbled upon an mdf sleigh for £6 it was completely blank, and nearly half a metre in length, I was really excited but it was sold out, so I set a notify me when back in stock, and luckily a week later it came back. I snapped up one, and then a few days later when it came back in stock again, I grabbed another. I had so many ideas of what I wanted to do with them, but only one idea of how I wanted to decorate them- rustic. I knew if I decorated them to look  worn and vintage, it would fit right in with the Christmas decor, and they’d always be a blank canvas to play with each Christmas! It was really easy to alter, and I thought I’d do a little video on my youtube channel of how I exactly did it. The video is only 3 minutes long which obviously shows just how easy it is to create this look.
You’ll need –
Hobbycraft wooden sleigh
Brown and black acrylic paints
Crackle paste, I use Ranger opaque
Glitter, I use cosmic shimmer glitter paste in Polar White

This sleigh is a great way to build up a display, I added this trig tree and polar bears, but I can also imagine this as a centre piece on a table with vintages jars filled with foliage. Or even better, a small chritmas tree laid down and tied to the sleigh with brown string!

And of course it looks beautiful propped up on its own, I added this beautiful mini wreath I picked up at Tesco, but you could add any little Christmas sign or create a little wreath to add.
Hope you enjoyed my little DIY and do let me know how you would decorate this sleigh
Much Love
