It’s been so long since I posted ( I think I say this every time haha!) but I’ve been doing so many projects, and so much work I’ve completely forgot to take photos! However, my advent calendar project is one I just had to share as I am so pleased with how it turned out!
Last year Nathan bought me the drawer set to put my small Christmas presents in, its from the works and they sell them all year! The MDF scene on the top was also from the works. I’d been waiting months to be able to get my hands on the Prima Frank Garcia Country in the Christmas range, I love everything from Prima especially the FG ranges, so I knew what Christmas paper range I wanted this year!
I began by applying a white wash to the drawer set and MDF scene, I then glued the MDF scene to the top. I then measured the drawers and cut out squares from the Christmas in the country paper pack and applied them to the front of the drawers. Next I added Prima Snow paste to the base of the scene, the trees and the rooftops. Over the top of this  I added  Ranger crackle paste and once dried added SO MUCH of my absolute favourites- Cosmic shimmer glitter pastes. This stuff has so much sparkle, if you follow my girl and the hound account on Instagram, you may have seen me talking about these in my stories. I then stamped the wooden stars with numbers and glued them onto the drawers, I added crackle paste and glitter paste to the drawers to help add texture to the rest of the calendar. Once this was all dry I cut out the Santa from my papers and added him to the scene along with some mini trees, wooden stars and flowers. This whole project was about building up texture and adding personality. I’m NOT a neat crafter so this style is right up my street, as it covers so many rough bits and allows me to be messy haha!

I would say it was quite an easy project to do, the only reason it took me what seemed like 34323 months was because I was waiting for supplies between stages.
What do you think of my calendar and have you made your own?
much love
