This weekend my boyfriend and I went to Sledmere house in Yorkshire to the Nostalgic weekend that they host every year. The grounds are full of people dresses up in 1940’s/50’s costumes, from military to police to families. We decided we would dress up, I wore a hawaiian print 50’s style dress with pearls, wedges and my retro style sunglasses. I pinned my hair up into victory curls and wore it short (this really killed me) and I obvioulsy had to wear the red lipstick to finish it off. My boyfriend wore a white shirt and shorts with a hawaiian dicky bow and a 1950’s camera. We looked like we were going on vacation in the 1950’s! It was so fun dressing up, plus you got to enter the grounds and house for free! It was a gorgeous day and we sat out in the grounds and had a picnic and just generally explored the grounds and gardens, it was picture perfect!
