Farndale in North Yorkshire is a tiny picturesque village. It’s home to the farndale daffodil valley, every spring the valley is filled with a bright yellow display of daffodils. We visited around 6 years ago, and I must admit, the volume of tourists was a little much for us, we like our walks to be very quiet, but I think it may have been when we were a little naive, with a not so flexible schedule and would go for day trips on bank holidays. However it is a rewarding walk and an easy one too, especially if you’re just looking for an easy family outing, and your wellies only get a little outing now and again!. This year we were obviously a little late for daffodils but we took a little half an hour stop in Farndale as we darted around the moors on a moody friday morning. The village is tiny, and was very very quiet, we stopped in the carpark (which also has toilets!) and watched a group of elderly couples come back from the valley walk, complete with deck chairs and picnic hampers. I chose to spend our little stop photographing a group of run down cottages before they are developed into holiday lets, giving me all the dreamy cottagecore feels I needed for the day! If like us, you sometimes like to drive around taking in as many beautiful views and stops as possible in a day on the moors, Farndale is the perfect stop to stretch your legs!
